The summer is flying by

Here are a couple of random pictures from July that I have never gotten around to putting up on there own.

Addie and her cousin Natalie on the 4th.

Nick and Lizzie at the family reunion.

Addie being a princess... kind of. If princesses wear headbands and arm bands and carry around dinosaurs.

Swim lessons and Lizzie enjoying her Cheerios during the lessons.

Spudman

This last weekend Nick and I traveled to lovely Burley Idaho so that we could do the spudman. It was my first Olympic tri and I was a little scared of the run. We left the girls with my mom who was nice enough to take on my bottle rejecting daughter and headed up. We spent friday night in my parents old pop up trailer and got up bright and early to race. The swim was great. It is in the snake river and gets over fast because of the current. The rest of the race was really fun as well. I especially loved the run. Part of it was on a canal road through the potato farms and it was really pretty. Reza also joined us on our adventure and it was fun to see him again. Nick and Reza both raced faster then last year and I finished my olympic distance all around a great weekend. Anyone interested next year?

Goodbye

Well, on Monday of this week Addie and Lizzie's cousins, Isaac and Beckam, left with their parents to live in Houston. It's exciting for the boys to be going to a place with a couple of waterparks right by home (it also helps that Sam has a job there) but we were sad to see them go. With all of our friends moving away from the great state of Utah and now Sam and Taryn I am running out of people to go do really stupid stuff with. I have no idea who I will go skiing with this next winter, that's a scary thought. It's getting to the point where we might actually start to have to make new friends, something that we have avoided with amazing skill. Luckily we still have Sara and Rhett around as well as the Kings, Richters, and Randalls so I don't think we will be sitting at home much still. But who is going to get me to boogie board down a huge high mountain glacier now? Anyway here are some pics from the big goodbye.
I can't tell you how sad I am that this picture is fuzzy but it's good anyway.

Sam prepping for working in a group.

I think there will be an all-star picture post if the boys coming soon if time allows.

Grumpy

Addie likes to play that she is the grumpy old troll and makes us solve her riddles before we can go past her. The other day Nick was walking past and she said "I am not the grumpy old troll today I am just grumpy." As you can imagine we had a lovely day.

Fun at the Cabin

This last weekend we went to my favorite place my grandma's cabin in the Uinta Mountains. This isn't one of those summer homes in the mountains it is an actual log cabin with two rooms, a kitchen, and tiny bathroom. There is electricity but no running water. To get there you take a dirt road for a couple of miles and then cross over the river. It really is the prettiest place I know. My best memories growing up were there and it is wonderful to watch Addie and Lizzie having the same fun. It is nice to know that getting muddy, playing in the water, and picking daises never gets old. My parents and two of my sisters were also up there so we slept in our tent just outside of the cabin since space is limited. It was a great weekend with a campfire, swimming in the river, muddy walks, mountain biking, hot dogs, and all the other great stuff. Forgive me for posting so many pictures but I just couldn't choose.

This is Milli our dog and she may have had more fun then any of us.

They're back

One of my sisters lives in the Marshall islands on Kwajalein. She only comes home once a year since it is a two day trip with a date change and twenty hours of flying. This time she did it with her three children alone and pregnant. She's amazing. We miss her all year and it was fun to have her finally see Lizzie. Here are some pictures of them all playing in the creek by my house.
