Things that Make me Happy

* My Rachel is an angel baby and lets me sleep

* Lizzie thinks she is four and when I told her that she was a little pill she said, "No mom, I a big pill."

* Addie, Lizzie, and some friends were playing with princess dress-ups. During the game Addie informed me that the other girls were princesses but that she was the Queen of the princesses and that meant she was in charge. (She never wants to be a princess she always wants to be queen. Imagine that.)

*This morning Addie came into my room with breakfast saying "Happy Mother's Day." Getting breakfast for me meant she had torn the bottom off the bread I made, buttered it with her hands, and brought it to me while I was feeding Rachel. So thoughtful don't you think?

The Best Time to Visit the Zoo

We visited the Zoo a couple of weeks ago on a nice sunny day that felt pretty warm after the cold winter, but was really only in the low 40s. Nick's sister Sara was nice enough to accompany us and help keep track of my traveling zoo. We discovered that a slightly cold afternoon is the best time to go if you actually want to see the animals and watch them play. We saw all the cats including the Cheetah. I wasn't sure the Cheetah was real because I have never seen a hair of it until now. Nick still doesn't believe it. Sara is also the best person you could take to the zoo; she brings treats, she plays with the kids, she loves the zoo, and she doesn't make me go in the stinky gross reptile house like Nick does.I couldn't get a good picture of the girls because of the Tiger cubs sitting right above them, but at least Sara looks cute.

Lizzie liked the leopards better because there was a nice safe glass wall between them.

This picture is a requirement for every zoo trip. It's kind of like our measuring our kid's heights on the wall.

In answer to your comment Andrea, yeah she is probably a pretty good mix of the two.

Just what I have never wanted

I sucked my thumb growing up and I sucked it for longer then I care to admit. It wasn't that I even wanted to at the end it was just a habit and I had to break it. Because of it I had lovely teeth and got to spend fun hours during 2nd and 3rd grade in speech therapy. I have been happy that my first two girls haven't liked their thumbs, fingers, or even binkies, but I found this the other day and I'm afraid I'm stuck.
As a bit of consolation to me, she is a really good baby.
